The question
The product starts from a simple problem: Where did I put that thing?
It is intentionally not built around cataloging every possession. Incomplete capture remains useful, and the physical map can grow organically through normal life.
Current foundation
- Nested physical places. Model rooms, drawers, shelves, boxes, and other containers as real-world paths.
- Categories stay separate. Physical location and categorical organization can coexist without duplicating an item.
- Fast finding. Search by item, category, or physical location path and browse places or categories directly.
- Unplaced is valid. An item can exist in the system before its exact location is known.
- Movement history. Move items while retaining a record of placement changes.
- Local-first foundation. Core data is stored locally, with offline app-shell support and no required cloud account.
- Visual memory is next. The roadmap is designed to add item/location photos and visual breadcrumbs without turning the product into a heavy inventory system.
Availability
KeptWhere is still under development. Its current development runtime remains intentionally separate from this public product page.
Installation instructions and direct access will be added only when the public-release milestone is ready.
